I was thinking of buying a Nikon D40, then remembered Chris Linag since that is his baby, then remembered how good he takes photos, then remembered I borrowed some of his pics to post here to tell the story about the first Eraserheads reunion concert when my boyfriend called me while I was in Guimaras to let me hear them song "With a Smile."

Then I realize how good that song is, then searched for its lyrics in the internet to post it here with a cute photo of my little sister and my little cousin smiling so innocently, and let me and let you remember how good life is, and that no matter how bad things appear to be, we can always smile at it and pray and everything's going to be okay.

Now I can smile. :)

One Evening in Chowking

On July 2, I met Bebang, Ed and Donald. I had to pay Bebang for the gas expenses during my birthday, where I used her card. Also, I had to bring her the pair of shoes she forgot in Zambales.









We met at McDonald's in Ayala Avenue. We ate in Chowking in Dela Rosa. Worth the walk since our meals were free! Thanks to the tie-up promotion of BPI credit cards and Chowking (Beef Chao Fan, Sweet and Sour Pork, or Spare Ribs for BPI card purchase worth P1000, Halo-halo for a minimum of P500 worth of purchase).

We had all of those meals, plus another halo-halo and dumplings and siomai. Salamat Bebang, BPI, Chowking at ang butal sa pambayad sa gas na hindi mo kinuha. :)

Russell

This is one of the first few shots I have taken with Minolta X-9, a film SLR I have not yet mastered.

That's Russell, a friend who could bring you to a world of a different dimension. (Okay, weird description.)

Since I didn't know yet how tweaking with shutter speed and aperture affects the quality of my shots with that camera, there were quite a lot of shots gone bad. This is one of the few which I was able to appreciate. Okay, not really good, but tolerable. At least you are seeing my subject.

By the way, you can learn more about Russell and his band here. I'm just not really sure if he's up to a new band now.

North Park - Dinner with eMe [M11]

Marcie organized the small gathering. Almost an impromptu dinner, there were just six of us who ate dinner together.

Destination -- NORTH PARK in Glorietta. We had to wait to get seated, but had to wait longer for our food. Service was just so slow. We even had to cancel our one order of Lechon Macau (since they seemed to have forgotten about it). Thankfully, the Lemon Chicken was yummy, plus the Yang Chao Rice.

Anyway, we had fun despite the poor service. I have missed my blockmates! Coincidentally, another math block from our batch also had a dinner in North Park. Add another set of fun.

Turning Twenty-Four

Turning twenty-four has been a sort of turning point in my life.

Turning twenty-four made my age fall under the "mid-twenties" group. It's really "shocking, unbelievable, stunning."

Turning twenty-four somehow made me think about my life. I have thought about the things I have done, the things I want to do, the things I have missed. It shocked me that I felt as if nothing really significant happened to my life for the past two years -- it felt as if I just suddenly turned twenty-four from just being 21 or 22.



This photo above was taken during the celebration of my boyfriend's birthday last November 2007. Twenty-four. I was teasing him then that he was already old. That was just a joke, a kind of pangungulit at paglalambing. It didn't occur to me that when I'm the one to turn 24, that feeling of "tumatanda na" would be, well, striking. I'm not so young anymore. Still young, but not that young.

Still, turning twenty-four also made me celebrate life. (See the celebration above? Yebah!) Sure, there's this quarter-life crisis (I'm beginning to feel it). But it made me really enjoy life. Growing up, not just growing old, is quite exciting.

Oh, I'm still young! :)

Living a Wonderful Life

I've just turned 24, and with it comes contemplation and reflections about life. What do I want with my life? So I made a list of the things that I want to do and experience.

One original item on the list is taking a photo each day starting on my 24th birthday. Then I felt that it's too much to ask from me. I revise the item to be one photo blog entry a day (except on days when I post a "bulletin"), with posts on weekends optional.

Hereunder is my second entry for this year. I should have started last Sunday, but I haven't rewritten my task yet that time so I was concerned only to take a picture, plus it's a weekend anyway.


I don't have a recent photo, but this one feels just right. It's from Princess' camera, probably taken also by her, shot during our graduation party in 2005, more than three years ago. I remember I was sick that time, but I just had to join the party. Living the moment, enjoying the night, having fun!

I love it ;)

Zambales Trip October 2004 - Ocean View

I was excited to blog about my recent trip to Anawangin and Capones Island last February. However, I left the images and video clips at home, and wasn't able to upload much of them, so instead of writing about that trip, here's another one. Zambales trip again.

October 2004. Sembreak.

As I remember, it was a hastily organized trip. My friends suddenly decided to go to Zambales and enjoy its beauty.

My hometown, Castillejos, doesn't really have its own beach. We have the Country Cottage Resort in Balaybay and St. Nichol's in Del Pilar, but they aren't beaches! So I "toured" them to Ocean View Beach Resort in Olongapo.

So now I remember, my friends have already gone to Zambales numerous times. Yeah, beautiful Zambales. ;)

About two and a half years ago...

A group of high school friends went to Pundaquit beach to get together and have some fun...

Mode of transportation: Rented jeepney. It's difficult to take purely public transportation in that place...

Food: Whatever food there may be...

Drinks: Water, soda, and some bottles...

Cost per person: Can't recall...

The joy it brought: Priceless...
